Beginning October 7th, musical director Jean-Pascal Hamelin will be participating in 32 performances of the play “Edgar et ses fantômes” throughout Quebec’s largest cities. The play, which incorporates both theatre and music, will be seen by over 35,000 spectators. With already 43 performances in Montreal and Quebec City “Edgar et ses fantômes” has known unprecedented success, thanks to the great talent of the comedians, but has also revealed to the general public the exceptional conducting of its musical director.
Recently, his disc ‘From the New World’ was twice nominated for the 2011 October “Gala de L’ADISQ”, in the categories of “Album of the year, Classical music orchestra” and “Best sound recording”. His latest recording, on ‘Disques Octave Classique’ of music from the play “Edgar et ses fantômes” (orchestral pieces mainly from Bach, Mozart et Beethoven) will be released September 27th 2011.
Jean-Pascal Hamelin will also be conducting I Musici of Montreal in February 2012.
